I&I Relations

I&I Relations is a social-cultural organization witch organizes events all over the Flemish side of Belgium. Founded in 2006 by 2 students from Brussels, Ben de Melker and Pim Rose, who came together with a cultural interest for music and art. Today I&I Relations has organized more than 40 events and projects in less than 3 years all over Belgium. I&I is meant for everyone. From the slowest live bands to the fastest Electronic sets and visa versa, we wish to come in contact with all sounds and arts of the universe.

Over the years I&I Relations has had many co-productions with other organizations. Organizations as Vaartkapoen, De Beursschouwburg, Recyclart,  Clash Of The Cultures, Breakcore Gives Me Wood, Shake It Easy, Bugklinik, Mekitburn, LAW, RSPCT, vzw Nandri… but also artists as DUB INC, MU-ZIQ, Venetian Snares, Zion Train, DAT Politics, Bogdan Razcynski, Limewax, Taraf De Haidouks, Knifehandchop, King Shiloh,… and many more have past the I&I revue.

Since the beginning of I&I Relations the idea grew to organize benefits with social, cultural and ecological purposes. This idea has finaly turned into reality with the project GlobaLocal, which is organizing I&I Relations’ first social cultural benefits in 6 different cities in Belgium. This first edition is in cooporation with vzw Nandri, an organization which financialy and materialy supports schools, orphanages and less fortunate children in India and Nepal.  More information at www.inirelations.com/globalocal

The benefits have two main objectives. First and especially we want to be able to do our share in society by supporting these projects and the less fortunate. And second of all we want to create consciousness with our vistiors by informing them in an interesting and original way about the social and cultural diversity that surrounds us. We want to do this by using music and art as a method. By allowing to combine different kinds of music and artforms on our events we hope that people can evolve their cultural insights. And that they can build up the respect for others around them!
